Executive Business MBA

This programme has been designed for those seeking to ‘top-up’ their existing PG Diploma to an Executive Master of Business Administration (MBA) Qualification.

This course will equip you with the knowledge and skills to undertake an independent work-related project within a business context. You will develop the skills and competencies required for advanced independent business research, analysis and critical self-management.

Next start dates: 14 - 15 March 2025

  1. Who is the Executive MBA for?

The Executive MBA is for students who have completed our Senior Leadership Apprenticeship PG Diploma or have a Level-7 PG Diploma from another institution and now wish to ‘top-up’ their qualification to an MBA.

  2. Delivery model

The programme is taught part-time over 10 months. The programme is delivered over two days of face-to-face teaching, followed by independent research supervision. The independent supervision may involve face-to-face or on-campus meetings depending on your individual needs.

Alongside individual supervision, you will have one-to-one access to a personal tutor who will offer relevant support and direct you to wider university services if needed. You will also have access to all student digital skills support and library services.

  3. Programme content

You will study one 60-credit module.

The module provides an opportunity to address a current business issue, challenge or problem in your organisation (where possible). You will achieve this by conducting an independent work-related project based on critical research and professional enquiry, using primary and/or secondary data, analysis and research methods, resulting in recommendations for future practice.

An alternative research project will be made available if your employer does not wish you to conduct research within your organisation or for students who may be in between employment.

  4. Assessment

    Report 1 (30% weighting)

Critically examine the application of research and professional enquiry methods for your work-related project (2,000 words).

    Report 2 (70% weighting)

A report detailing the execution of a work-related research project report in an organisational context (8,000 words).

  5. Tuition fees

    Fee: £4,250

A Scholarship of £1,000 is applicable to students who meet the following criteria:

    • The student must have successfully completed their SLA/PG Dip at ÃÛÌÒÖ±²¥ including their End Point Assessment
